Mindfulness is popular these days. From an ancient spiritual practice, it has been adapted and brought into schools, businesses and wellbeing courses. And there is some strong, robust research showing how mindfulness can benefit us in many situations and contexts. So what is Mindfulness? There are many definitions – but one that sums up the key points nicely is: “Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment” https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/mindfulness/definition, and many definitions add ‘non-judgmentally’. We have extended that a little further from an mBraining perspective: “In multi-Mindfulness, we explore awareness with not only the head based perception, but also with the interoceptive (inner) awareness from the body, with particular focus on the heart and gut brains as well as the awareness from the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). In this 7 day challenge we want to introduce you to mindfulness and multi mindfulness and inspire a desire to know more that will take you into further deeper study after the 7 days.
